Topping out at Salisbury Law Courts

The topping out ceremony was held on Thursday 25th September 2008 to mark the completion of the structural frame.  This was attended by the client, HMCS, the key users and members of the project and developer teams.  The senior resident judge, HH Judge Keith Cutler marked the occasion by pouring concrete into the last permanent shutter at the top of the building.

The reinforced concrete frame uses a bubble deck system into which recycled plastic waste is placed in order to reduce the amount of concrete used and in doing so the embodied energy and dead weight of the frame.

Following a year of construction, the building is taking shape with the brick cladding largely complete, the curtain walling commenced, internal partitions and M&E first fix largely complete.  The project is due for completion summer 2009.
