Grade II listing for Trinity Church, Norwich

Trinity Church in Norwich has become the city's first post-war building to be awarded Grade II listed status. Designed by Sir Bernard Feilden (co-founder of Feilden+Mawson) its distinctive design, inspired by the church of St Apollinaire near Ravema, Italy, maximises a narrow space and combines architectural features with spiritual and pastoral requirements.

Sir Bernard said: "Naturally I'm very pleased because it's an early building of mine. It's got a good copper roof and it's a two storey church because there wasn't enough room to build it on one storey but I think that actually enhances it. I'm very happy at this time of my life to get one of my first buildings recognised."
