Academy House Now Open

Academy House is officially open as we celebrate our involvement since the initial stages of the project when joining in 2007.

Academy House is a state-of-the-art office development located in Cambridge city centre, offering over 3,500 sqm of office space with car parking decks.

During the various reappraisal phases Feilden+Mawson worked closely with the client to fully understand the parameters of the site and the modified requirements as the scheme evolved. The building was completed in 2015.

Phase 1 of Gloucester Place Hotels Complete

We are very happy to announce that Phase 1 of the 4* Gloucester Place Hotels development for The Portman Estate, in joint venture with Z Hotels, is now complete. It will be a busy year for the team as Phase 2 will follow in late May and Phase 3 in early November 2016.

F+M Reach New Heights

Staff from our Cambridge office had an exclusive site visit to check on the ever progressing University Arms Hotel in February. They were lifted by crane 200 feet into the air giving panoramic views of the city that cannot be seen from anywhere else!

Launch of InteriorFM

We are excited to kick off our new venture of InteriorFM, catering specifically for interior design across Feilden+Mawson. Our first project was with Cambridge Style Week which has been running for four years and is gaining ground in the fashion and design fraternity in Cambridge.

We wanted to show a new way of working by proposing themes to be used each year, while creating an exciting and striking identity to each show. This year the theme was 'Urban Retreat', for which we provided the alternative idea of showcasing fashion in an immersed woodland environment, set against the ornate backdrop of the Guildhall on Market Square. The catwalk design encapsulates a woodland walk with imagery from Vescom and flooring from Interface.

F+M Cambridge attended this year's fashion events which celebrate local Cambridge talent in design and fashion. We will soon be looking into new ideas for CSW 2017 so watch this space!

Lake Cabin's Continued Success!

Our Lake Cabin in the Czech Rebublic is continuing to receive attention and recognition across Europe with the recent honorable mention for the Hauser award in Berlin which included an article published in Hauser Magazine. The project was also shortlisted as a Finalist for the AJ Small Projects Award and is featuring as part of their exhibition at the NLA.

F+M at MIPIM 2016

Feilden+Mawson Partners, Philip Bodie and Philip Taylor, have returned safely from Cannes, home of MIPIM, the world's leading property market.

Some 22,000 delegates from all over the world attended this year's MIPIM week representing all aspects of the property industry including, developers, architects, contractors, councils and investors. With this rich mix of opportunities, F+M enjoyed meeting existing and new contacts against the enjoyable French Riviera backdrop.

In addition to showcasing their London projects, they got involved in debates on Devolution and Brexit and brought back useful intelligence on market influences. Having enjoyed networking and hospitality from early morning to late at night, Monday to Friday, they are looking forward to reinforcing existing relationships and forging new ones.

Paul Rynsard’s Retirement

Feilden+Mawson announce that Paul Rynsard retired from the Practice with effect from the end of February. He joined Feilden+Mawson in 1993 and became a Partner in 1998. Over those 23 years, Paul has made a massive contribution to the Practice, and has been involved with bringing in and delivering many of our most prominent projects including the UK Supreme Court and latterly our frameworks at the Palace of Westminster. He has also been responsible for successfully managing the Practice over the last 20 or so years and introducing innovative ways of working. He successfully introduced and led the Quality Procedures which we deliver to all of our clients today.

We will all miss his sound judgement and clear headed thinking and would like to thank him for his invaluable contribution over the last two decades. Following a break for some travelling, Paul will continue to assist the Practice as a consultant.

60 Years Anniversary

As part of our ongoing 60th anniversary celebrations, Feilden+Mawson have commenced a programme to support future Architects by providing two institutions with funds that will help the ongoing education for both Part 1 and Part 2 students. From 2016, an Architecture student showing excellence at Norwich University of the Arts will be awarded a scholarship to complete their Part 1 degree. Also via the RIBA Hardship Fund, we will be supporting a student to continue their professional development and gain Part 2 qualification.
