Since joining the practice in 2016 as an associate architect, James has been a pivotal force in championing quality assurance. His robust approach to fee bidding and client liaison, coupled with an exemplar programming expertise, ensures complete transparency of service to our clients.

James is well-versed in resourcing and works proactively to ensure that project challenges and deadlines are met wherever possible. 15 years post-qualification experience has seen James at the coal face through all RIBA Stages cementing his position as a designer with architectural flair and technical expertise in equal measure. With an upbeat approach to working, James thrives on the ability to enhance a client’s brief, turning their vision into an exciting, yet cost effective reality.

He specialises in residential, masterplanning and commercial design, though his experience crosses all sectors and he can turn his hand to anything. James has always had a passion for sustainability, and in 2014, became a Certified Passivhaus Designer. Championing the carbon reduction agenda, James took the lead in re-energising Feilden+Mawson’s carbon footprint strategy and has also furthered his expertise through zero carbon retrofit initiatives for numerous clients. De-carbonising the UK building stock is one of the single biggest challenges we face as a nation this century; with James’ passion and resolve in this field of expertise, we can assist our clients in realising the full potential of their assets.
