National Construction College
The scheme for the redevelopment of the campus consists of new student accommodation, support services and sports facilities. It also upgrades the facilities at the Birches Hotel and Conference Centre.
The solution addresses aspects of corporate identity through a language of coloured facades and will endeavour to achieve high levels of sustainability performance through a BREEAM rating of 'Excellent.' The material will demonstrate technical innovation yet, more importantly, create a sense of place and belonging to the college's scattered facilities. The idea of introducing a social heart will incorporate a new level of cohesion to the site master plan, forming opportunities for future development.
