PIC Ipswich
The new Police Investigation Centre (PIC) at Ipswich (Martlesham) is the fourth Facility of six being delivered under a rolling programme for the 2 Counties PIC PFI Project by Feilden+Mawson.
The Ipswich PIC provides 30 new cells with associated process, interview, consultation, medical, search and holding rooms to replace the existing custody at Ipswich Police Station. Similar to the other operational PIC's, accommodation includes the main Charge Desk, Discrete Booking, Process and Interview Rooms with a Major Incident Room and CIU Office. Detainee movement into and out of the PIC is managed by two Vehicle Docks that can accommodate a number of response and court vehicles at any one time while maintaining segregation of detainees.
