Salisbury Law Courts
This new building, completed in 2009, is one of the first combined court centres and is a groundbreaker for HMCS in its procurement using the OJEU procedure.
Feilden+Mawson were appointed following a competitive interview in 2002 to act as lead designers and technical advisors for the new courthouse, which comprises two Crown and two Magistrates Courts, a District Judges Hearing Room and the Regional office. It is located on the edge of the Salisbury City Conservation Area and the design and choice of materials draw from the local 'semi-urban' townscape and palette to achieve a civic building, which is intended to spark regeneration on a main route into the city.
