King Edward's Quay
Situated on the banks of the River Colne in Colchester, Feilden+Mawson's design incorporates a mixture of uses, including hotel, community facilities, sports provision and approximately 400 apartments and townhouses, to regenerate this key area of Colchester. The proposed scheme has been well received by the local authority, who is considering how the scheme can expand beyond the present site to develop and regenerate the area.
The series of blocks step up from 4 storeys to 12, and use a similar language of the roof wrapping down an inner elevation to create the first floor in a C form framing the lightweight facades of white panels and glazing.
