Feilden+Mawson were invited in 2008 to participate in another Bus Rapid Transit project, following close involvement in the Pilot Project for Lagos.
Feilden+Mawson's role as Architect and Urban Designers was to design the architecture of 12 bus stations, an interchange station, a terminal, bus depot and a bridge across a large roundabout. The aim of the architect strategy was to design an important precedent of public architectural and urban statement, encouraging local urban regeneration and attracting use of public transport for all groups of users. Important to the project was local artist co-operation to encourage Art as a means of communications and local identity.
