Duke's Wharf
This proposed redevelopment project will transform the former electricity board brownfield site in the heart of Norwich into a new 250,000ft2 mixed use development. Bounded to the north by the River Wensum and to the east by Duke's Street, the 2.1 acre site will include commercial retail, restaurants, residential and contemporary art gallery. The scheme incorporates a series of new public spaces of courtyards, thoroughfares and sculpture park and achieved detailed planning approval in 2008.
Designed to be eco-friendly with a centralised energy system, the development will incorporate the issue of sustainability at its core and is designed to a BREEAM 'Excellent' rating.
