    Little Bethel Street

Feilden+Mawson were approached by Cotman Housing Association in competition to provide innovative ideas to regenerate their existing building assets at Little Bethel Street in Norwich.

The urban development comprises a 1990’s modern infill extension sandwiched between 2no. period buildings, one of which is listed, and is home to 18no. residents.

A tired looking and unused courtyard which resides at the rear of the property was in dire need of attention. Exploring ideas in 3d sketch format, we developed an exciting array of options which were extremely well received by the client, so much so, that it has led to further commissions.

This proposal transforms the external space into a vibrant, yet tranquil area where residents’ would wish to spend time. The space comprises a juxtaposition of hard/soft landscape finishes and features, seating and integrated/formalised discreet cycle/refuse storage.

Planning / Listed Building Consent was granted in March 2018; the current programme anticipates completion in spring 2019.
