    Private House at Lower Farm

Feilden+Mawson were commissioned to design a replacement dwelling outside the settlement boundary in Whissonsett, Norfolk.

Gaining full planning approval in July 2018, this ‘one-off’ contemporary barn-style property takes agricultural influence and has been designed sympathetic to its locality. Salvaged flintwork from the original dwelling forms a key element of the aesthetic which is portrayed in a “quoin-less” arrangement to gable ends. This is complimented with red facing brickwork, timber cladding accents and zinc roofs throughout.

The dwelling sits within a hectare of grassland surrounded by mature trees and vegetation supplemented by a wildlife-thriving pond around which the dwelling nestles.

Subject to funding, technical design is imminent with tenders to be invited Winter 2018 and a start on site due in the new year. Feilden+Mawson look forward to our continued relationship with this private client in realising his dream home!
