Na Vackove

The client, Metrostav Development, required a mix of different types of residential units ranging from apartments to individual terraced houses. High quality terraces were to fill in a gap in the housing market in central Prague.

We proposed a residence which combines the advantages of a private house and spatial economy of apartments. Interlocking houses form a continuous terrace with private gardens, terraces and private parking spaces. Three large apartment buildings are located on a semi underground parking plinth which uses the natural slope of the site to minimise cost. The entrance is level with the street and therefore no expensive ramping or car lifts were proposed. The apartments are surrounded by loggias which provide external private areas planted with climbing greenery.

The goal was to create exemplary and high quality urban environment – a desirable place for living.
