Prague Zoo Terrace

The remodelling of an existing restaurant terrace next to the main entrance of the Prague ZOO respects its current stepped configuration. The principal design aim was to achieve maximum visual and physical connection with the adjacent ZOO complex and to create a continuous social space.

Existing walls and barriers were removed to allow DDA access. The new terrace is made of stone paving in oak timber frames supplemented by zinc coated steel handrails and ramps. The timber steps in between the levels allow informal seating and complement the traditional tables and chairs. The next phase of the project will add new food kiosks at the east edge of the terrace.
