Master's Lodge, Trinity College

Feilden+Mawson led a sensitive refurbishment, balancing essential modernisation with conservation. The project focused on renewing building services, improving accessibility, and enhancing historic features.

The Master’s Lodge, a Grade I Listed building in Great Court, dates back to 1554 with extensions in 1601. In 1892, Sir Arthur Blomfield added the West Wing, creating private accommodation for the Master and freeing historic rooms for public functions.

Following submission of a Historic Impact Assessment, secured Listed Building Consent for both internal refurbishment and external repairs was achieved. Collaboration with conservation officers ensured the project upheld the building’s architectural integrity. The refurbishment enhances the Lodge’s functionality while preserving its character for future generations.
