Employee Owned Trust
F+M is proud to announce its transition to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), marking a significant milestone in the practice’s long and celebrated 70-year history. This latest evolution reflects the practices enduring commitment to maintaining and celebrating our heritage while embracing a new, vibrant and exciting future.
Founded on principles of design excellence, integrity, and partnership, F+M has thrived for decades by placing people at the heart of its work. The move to employee ownership represents the latest step in this journey, ensuring that the entire team plays an active role in shaping the next era of the practice.
The EOT structure further embeds F+M’s commitment to nurturing talent, fostering creativity, and cultivating a workplace community where collaboration and personal development are championed at every level. This shift empowers staff to contribute directly to the strategic direction of the practice, deepening their investment in both project outcomes and the long-term vision of the firm and marks a natural progression for the practice. It helps us build on our existing relationships and strengthen the bond with clients old and new.
Strengthening the existing leadership
The Board of Directors, comprising individuals who have played a pivotal role in shaping the practice’s long‑term direction, will continue to advance F+M’s strategic vision. In parallel with the practice’s transition to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), the appointment of new directors will bring fresh expertise and perspectives to the leadership team.
F+M is pleased to announce the appointment of James Curtis (Cambridge), Graham Epking‑Crane (London), Sally Keogh (London), and Marc Piqué i Gascón (London) to the Board of Directors. Each will contribute diverse experience and insight, helping to drive innovation across the practice while continuing to support existing clients and cultivate new relationships.
A carefully planned transition
The EOT safeguards continuity and reinforces support for the leadership team, allowing them to concentrate on the strategic priorities that will guide the practice’s future development. It will bring new focus and stewardship to an ever-changing industry and build on the strong foundations and reputation the practice has across the UK.
The establishment of the Employee Ownership Trust represents not only an evolution of the business but also a reaffirmation of F+M core values; collaboration, excellence, and care whilst thrusting it into a new era of pioneering architecture. It ensures that the practice will continue to thrive as a place where our staff can grow, contribute to the practice, where our ideas flourish, and great architecture is made possible through collective endeavour. For our clients, this transition strengthens the continuity, accountability, and shared commitment that underpin every project, ensuring that design and conservation expertise remain firmly rooted within the practice. By placing ownership of the business in the hands of those who shape its work, we reinforce the quality, rigour, and long-term care that define our approach to creating and conserving exceptional places
