Newport Magistrates' Court is a beautifully distinctive piece of architectural design and a spacious, bright and well detailed workplace, providing three formal Magistrates' Courts, one informal Court with secure custody facilities and managed support accommodation. It sits proudly on the West bank of the River Usk as a new landmark for the city of Newport and as a centre of civic strength for the area.

The project brief presented many challenges in compliance with the Court Service Design Guide Standards, balancing the needs for security and accessibility; however the result speaks for itself. Having also received BREEAM Excellent, the building is not just a landmark, but an exemplar for court buildings across the country.
