Feilden+Mawson are working with our client, Norwich City Council, on a major regeneration of the Mile Cross former City Depot site, principally to develop social housing with high quality public realm / landscaping.
The aim is to create strong connections to the site’s surroundings and the wider city via sustainable transport, and create much needed social housing to a high standard of environmental performance (Net Zero Carbon in-use).
It is a challenging site which involves a ‘Land Civilisation’ exercise to prepare the site for the development of housing, and comes with a complex set of engineering constraints with regard to the existing ground, and management of sustainable drainage and conditions connected to its previous use as an industrial site.
