Feilden+Mawson, in collaboration with Morgan Sindall, delivered from inception to construction completion a 1 form entry expansion of St Michaels Primary School and Nursery. Now occupied, the building was completed on time, on budget and offers the school high quality teaching space to accommodate the growing numbers.

The peri-urban site in Colchester posed key challenges of providing accommodation over two floors on a tight site and minimising the visual impact against a back drop of open playing fields. Our winning hybrid design solution minimised land take whilst maximising open views for each of the 8 teaching class spaces. The accommodation also includes a new centralised kitchen and multi-purpose hall.
