Wins for Norwich Castle and Soul Church at DCA25
We’re thrilled to announce two of our projects were awarded at the 2025 Design and Craftsmanship Awards last night – Soul Church won in the Community Category whilst Norwich Castle was awarded the Sir Bernard Feilden Award!
Norwich Castle Keep is a landmark project for our practice, and the Norfolk community. The £27.5million refurbishment of the Grade I listed Keep supports the longevity of the building and creates an enhanced visitor experience to the museum. Sensitive restoration balanced with modern interventions sees historic spaces dating back 900 years preserved, while reorganised spaces makes the museum more legible to visitors and provides renewed facilities including a new entrance, shop, café, and education spaces.
The building is now accessible to all from basement to rooftop battlements thanks to new stairs and internal lift, while key features are showcased, including via a new glass atrium over the entrance framing the east Keep wall.

The goal of our new-build project Soul Church was to establish a hub for the community, who were passionate about creating an iconic and memorable building.
The project delivered a mixed-use building of accommodation to support religious services through the use of the 1250-seat Auditorium and Chapel, Youth engagement through the Youth Hall and Bible Class areas, Education provision through Soul Nursery and School as well as the Play Barn, Café and Community Shop to support the local community.
What a wonderful achievement for everyone involved in the projects.
A big congratulations to the winners and shortlisted projects, the level of innovation on display last night was truly inspiring. Thank you to RIBA Norfolk, The Norwich Society, Norwich University of the Arts and Norfolk Gardens Trust for organising this fantastic event, and Sainsbury Centre for having us. What a special opportunity to celebrate the excellence of Norfolk architecture.
